A Perfect Match for DNA Diagnostics with FISH

Microscope- and Dye-specific Optical Filters and LED Light Sources

Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH, mFISH) is a common method to approach cytogenetic analysis of nucleic acids. Precise selection of optical filters and light sources plays a key role to achieve brilliant fluorescence signals with almost no background and cross talk. AHF analysentechnik offers filter sets consisting of excitation filter, emission filter and beamsplitters as well as state-of-the-art LED light sources with optimized spectrum for FISH applications. Each filter of the set will be carefully chosen to match both the specific microscope type and fluorescence dyes used. Demo filter sets and light sources can be provided for testing purposes in your lab facility. AHF is happy to give you support in selection of the right filter and light source for your specific application.

LED Light Sources for FISH: The Better Way of Illumination

It is recommended to use LED illumination for fluorescence excitation as it provides many benefits to the FISH application user. LED light sources are completely mercury-free and have a 10–100 times longer lifetime (up to 35,000 hours) compared to arc lamps. There is no need for re-calibration after lamp exchange due to no lamp replacement.

Additionally, they produce much less radiation/heat and can be switched on/off instantaneously as no warm-up or cooling-down time has to be considered. In a medium term, LED light sources reduce the cost of operation and maintenance. AHF offers the newest generation of LED light source for FISH applications like Lumencor’s SOLA FISH or the new AF-2100.
